In fact, ION R1 adds up to 35% more power and significant speed upgrades over previous Gen 1 ION Augers, making it one of the most powerful electric augers on the market today. The R1 is outfitted with a durable composite bottom, centering point, and cutting ring to ensure that you can safely and comfortably re-drill old holes without the binding and jarring that many curved blade augers experience. The 8” model weighs just 23 lbs, features a full length 40-inch auger, and cuts 1600” of ice on a single charge.
